My name is Rié,
I am a therapist and social worker, as well as animal lover, photographer, outdoor adventurer, book reader, and the list goes on.
I went to school at the University of British Columbia where I received both my Bachelors and Masters degrees in social work.
I have 8+ years experience working with youth, adults and families. I have spent many years working in healthcare in both acute and community settings. My focus has always been in mental health and addictions though I have also enjoyed spending time working in medical and physical rehab units.
I believe in meeting you where you are at. I will never force my agenda of what I think you should be doing; that is a process that we can work on together.
I work with older teens (17 and up; younger if previously discussed), and adults, and incorporate Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
(DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and EMDR. Most importantly, I believe that human connection, safety, and relationship are at the core of the healing journey. I strongly believe that each individual benefits from drawing on different modalities to fit their unique situation.
I look forward to meeting you in the nook!
I am not taking new WEEKEND clients at this time. If you wish to be on the waitlist, please send me an email to let me know and I will add you. The waitlist is approximately 3 months long at this time
Note: Clinical Social Work services can be claimed as medical expenses on income tax. They are also exempt from GST. If you are claiming fees under benefits, please ensure you have coverage for “Registered Social Worker, or RSW” designation.
